"I have never had so much success (or fun) with the punt. Thanx heaps and great
punting to all!”
"I am very appreciative of the efforts that go into producing this outstanding information."
In
recent issues we’ve looked at various multiple combination approaches
for trifecta and First 4 betting. I’ve had quite a few letters from
readers seeking further advice.
Most want to know easy ways of
finding the right selections. This is the tough one, isn’t it? Finding
the right combination is easy enough but finding exactly which runners
to use is another matter altogether.
Several
readers have been in touch following my articles on multiple betting on
trifectas and First 4s. All raised interesting points.
In future
issues of PPM, I will deal with the issues they brought up but I
thought I’d mention in this month’s article a letter from Jack of
Toowoomba, who told me he makes money from trifecta betting and was keen
to raise his investment but without relying on ‘banker’ standout
selections.
As we all know, the First 4 is a challenging and frustrating
“exotic” bet. To beat it on a long-term basis requires skill, patience
and . . . lots of money.
This month’s article concentrates on
looking at multiples which cost at least $100 (but always remember you
can use flex-bets to lower the cost of any combination).
Landing
a First 4 divvie can be a marvelously rewarding experience. The payouts
are big. Sometimes huge.
But how can you frame your bets for a
moderate amount of money and give yourself a fighting chance of hauling
in a regular stream of collects, including, hopefully, a whopper or two?
The
First 4 requires you to pick, in the right order, the first four horses
home in a race. That’s a tough ask. It’s hard enough getting an exacta,
harder to get a trifecta . . . and, well, a First 4 is stretching your
limits as a punter.
