"I have never had so much success (or fun) with the punt. Thanx heaps and great
punting to all!”
"I am very appreciative of the efforts that go into producing this outstanding information."
Back on June 15, Statsman hero of so many great
system creations over the last 20 years - achieved what many say is the
impossible dream.
In his 00555 telephone selections, which
accompany the Jon Hudson Factor tips, Statsman correctly picked the four
winners for his special Yankee bet.
In the July issue of PPM the previously
“mysterious” formula betting was de-mystified quite substantially with a
series of examples which I am positive will have helped all readers in
their understanding of how this bet form can be utilised.
I
pointed out that the first thing to remember about formula betting is
the formula number you choose is the number of times you have to be
right across your series of bets. In this article, strategies will be
shown which, if used sensibly alongside the helpful hints provided in
the last issue, can be used to crank up the dollars returned on those
days when all the gods favour the punter and the collects just keep
rolling in.
Recently, I reflected on how betting options have
increased for the keen punter since I began my punting odyssey way back
in 1967.
By far the greatest volume of betting, as I remember,
revolved around the traditional win and place and as far as the exotics
were concerned, the daily double and quinellas were always foremost in
the mind of most punters I knew.
With the New Year coming up fast, we need
to take stock of things and look at the obvious. I think one of the most
obvious aspects of our racing game is the place all-up bet.
It
must be the greatest insurance bet there is, and I never tire of saying
that I sometimes regard it as the sort of insurance component of an each
way bet. Insurance is the name of our game really – we are trying to
insure ourselves against losing. We don’t want to lose, we want to win.
But if we can’t win (because the gods have decided that today is not our
day), well, the next best thing is to cover our backsides.
Right?
